About
Hi. I’m Lucas, a blockchain protocol engineer at Consensys, where I work on Teku and the Ethereum protocol itself. It’s the kind of work where a single line of code can ripple across a global network of nodes, which keeps things interesting.
Over 10+ years of backend engineering I’ve developed a soft spot for systems architecture, high-scale distributed systems, and shipping fast with small teams. Mostly Java these days, with whatever else the problem demands.
This blog is where I write about what I’m working on, learning, or thinking about: Ethereum, testing, distributed systems, etc.
For more about me, my projects, and a few ways to get in touch, head over to lucassaldanha.com.
A note on AI (aka the “no-slop promise”)
I use AI tools when writing for this blog, but as a reviewer, not as a ghostwriter. They catch my typos, point out sentences that are hard to follow, and tell me when I’m not being as clear as I think I am. I also use them to research the topics I’m writing about.
The ideas, opinions and experiences here are mine, and I’m responsible for everything I publish.
My “no-slop” promise is that I take the time to think through and write my posts, always putting the reader’s best interest first. I’m not writing for clout or to get more views (this blog isn’t monetized). This is just a place where I can share some of my work and talk about things I like to talk about.
